What Is Chalk Paint?
The trademark for Chalk Paint™ was the center of an infringement dispute. Annie Sloan, a UK based interior designer owns the trademark, but similar products have popped up on the market and some retail vendors sold the signature paint after their authorization to do so had come and gone. In the 1990s, Sloan invented the paint so that she could work on all kinds of surfaces – metal, glass, wood, brick, concrete and more.nChalk Paint™ shouldn’t be confused with chalkboard paint, which is used widely for children’s rooms and baker’s kitchens. Chalk Paint™ derives its name because of its chalky finish. However, chalkboard paint creates a surface that is easy to write on with chalk and that can then be erased, if necessary. These are two different kinds of paint.
